Batmud: Gnomish flying machine area

Summary:

Coder: Merri
Also called: gnome airship, crashed airship
Position: Laenor at 406x, 596y; Global at 8598x, 8788y
Description: A crashed flying machine filled with strange forms of life, secrets, and weird items. Designed specifically for higher level newbies, players over level 50 who try to explore the depths of this place will periodically lose half their health from psionic damage. If this area has a flaw, it is that there’s a lot of puzzles, but you also tend to need a group, so exploring relies on a patient or actively interested party.

Area History and Comments:

Entered game: Feb 4 2003
Old location: A little northeast from Bat City.

There is an eternal typo here telling newbies incorrect info and that they should go to Bat City for the newbie warehouse. It resists all attempts at reporting.

Some new players manage to miss every bit of the info here. Or rather, manage to skip exploring and reading about things. As a result, a newer tutorial has been in the works. Some old players are depressed that an area designed to spoon feed information still isn’t easy enough.

Batmud: New Rilynt’tar area

Coder: Poet coded the original version. Ulath is responsible for the current one.
Location: Furnachia, global coordinates: 9600x, 9433y
Alternate names: Rilynttar. No one calls it ‘New Rilynt’tar’

Summary:

The main and pretty much only city in Furnachia. The standard shops and services are here, as are a number of little oddities and partly finished touches. There’s tons to explore, but expect to hit a few dead ends. Don’t feed the birds.

Batmud: Temple of Tzarakk area

Location: Lucentium, at global coordinates 7964x, 10717y

Very close to Lorenchia to the southwest, past a small mountain range, the entrance is west from some ruins which stand between two small mountains.

Coder: Ulath?

Alternate names: Tzarakk guild, Guild LoCs Tzarakk, An abandoned temple

Summary: This is the main guild hall and only training place for members of the Tzarakk guild. They can train and advance in levels here once they’ve joined the guild at the Temple of Chaos and appeased Tzarakk.

This is also where Tzarakks come to compare their might and hang their hunting trophies.

Batmud: Temple of Chaos area

Coder: Ulath
Alternate names: New Locs, Disciple guild
Location: Furnachia, global coordinates 9622x, 9453y

Summary: This is the joining location, training spot, and guild hall for the Disciples guild. It is also the joining location for the Tzarakk, Kharim, and Aelena guilds.  When it opens, this is where you’ll go to join Nergal as well. There are some aggressive monsters in here, so try to stick to clear floor.
