From scratch, you say?
A few days ago I went down a bit of a rabbit hole. Specifically, I looked into contemporary web standards and practices. Much to my shock I realized they all seemed elegant, easy to implement, and well considered.
I took to heart the following idea: That the inadequacy of the modern internet has little to do with Google, the W3C, or any other entity. The suggestions they actually offer, the standards they actually establish, I like. They're good. I dast not blame Google for being unhappy with my own website.
I do not expect to create a particularly beautiful website, but I think I can make one that is good enough, and most imporantly, one I cannot blame on my tools. So I tossed Wordpress to the can, and here I am, rewriting everything mostly line by line, warts and all. And it is fun. I like my stupid little website once again, because once again it is my own stupid little website.
As to what was here, well, the important stuff was already relased to the public domain. As for the rest? Well, what I had here was stagnant for more than a decade. If you care about what is missing, you probably know how to reach me and I can put it back.
So as to not leave you with nothing, perhaps you will enjoy a simple image in the style of classic 80 column ansi splash screens:
