The Kobold Tunnel Rats
Most kobolds are abused by the larger races, bullied into dangerous and risky jobs nobody wants to do. Orcs use them to test caves and mine tunnels for integrity, letting the lighter kobolds test the floors for hidden pits or deadfalls. Trolls employ them as scouts of sorts, hurling them into villages or castles and following the screams of the kobold when the inhabitants slaughter it. As such, over the generations, kobolds have learned a few tricks, letting them stay alive longer in such conditions and maybe picking up a stray bauble or two before their captors notice it is missing.

The Kobold race
General description:
Kobolds are distant relatives of the orcs. Some rumors claim that they
are offspring of an orc mating with a hyena. These rumors get more
basis when one sees his first kobold. These small humanoids have the
head of a hyena or a head that resembles the one of a hyena. Most
kobolds commit acts of thievery and robbery. Rare are the parties that
admit a kobold as their member, but most kobolds who pick up the
adventuring career are outcasts who have learned some manners from
other creatures. Kobolds' main advantage is their smallish size. They
can get to places their larger friends can't access.

Other features:
They regenerate damage very slowly. They are inferior beings and therefore
need less experience points. Even the most difficult arcane powers can be
mastered by them. They can see in the dark. They can eat corpses. They have a
faster than normal heart beat. They gain bonuses in melee combat if there are
more than one of them in the party. They have bad vision.
Kobold Racial Emotions
Kobolds have the following racial emotions: glower, horn, hyena, miserable, protest, spank and whine. They can be used by typing kobold <command>. kobold glower presence You glower at Presence. Presence glowers at you. kobold horn You polish your horns. kobold hyena You howl like a hyena. kobold miserable You look miserable - your normal self. kobold protest You sulk in a corner as a protest to what's happening. kobold spank presence You spank Presence with your strong tail. Presence spanks you with her long tail. Ouch! kobold whine You WHINE about everything you can possibly think of.
